With just 100 days left until Christmas Day, now is the time to begin your Christmas preparations and start the countdown.
Your Christmas Cake
They say that you need to make your Christmas make two or three months before Christmas Day. This way it gives the cake plenty of time to mature and offers up plenty of weeks for you to ‘feed’ it with your choice of rum, brandy or sherry. Did you know if if you eat your Christmas cake too soon after baking it, it will simply crumble? Allowing it time to firm up also let’s the taste develop. This should be one of the first Christmas preparations you get in place. Then you just need to decide if you eat it with a slice of cheese or not!
Christmas Present List
It’s also a great idea to get your Christmas present list organised right now. Write down all the thing you need and the names of all the people you want to buy for this year. See if you can find things on sale which look more expensive than they are. That way it looks like you’ve got them an amazing gift but you haven’t had to stretch your budget quite so far. If we plan and put into place some Christmas preparations, we avoid last minute expensive gift buying.
Check Your Christmas Decorations
One of the best things to do before you actually get them out, is to check your Christmas decorations. Head up into the loft one afternoon or open that wardrobe in the spare room and see what you have, what is still good and what might need replacing. Lots of us are looking to go ‘all out’ with Christmas this year because of the year 2020 has been so far. Check out our mystery boxes for a festive surprise too!
There are lots of Christmas preparations to make over the next few months in order to have the perfect Christmas day. Don’t forget though, it’s all about friends and family. Put that at the heart of your Christmas and you’ve got the perfect time!
