There is a lot in life that we are unsure about. The year that has been 2020 has shown us jus how the rug can be pulled out from under us. One thing that we can be sure of though, is that Christmas happens once a year. December 25th will always arrive and if we make a few little preparations throughout the year, we can make Christmas that little bit more manageable. Start to plan for Christmas 2021 today!
Add To A Savings Pot
One of the best ways t financially plan for Christmas is to do it throughout the year. Rather than getting to mid November and seeing Christmas approaching, wondering where you’re going to get your festive money from, you plan over twelve months. Putting a little bit of cash away every week or month into a separate savings pot, just for Christmas, is a great idea. If you usually spend £400 a year on Christmas, divide that between 48 weeks or 11 months, so you have it in place by the start of December.
Check Your Christmas Decorations
Ensure your Christmas decorations are in perfect order for next year. When you put them away, make sure they are protected and working. Those pesky Christmas lights can so often fail when you plug them in, so make sure you have checked them before packing them away. If you need new decorations, look for them throughout the year as well. You could plan to buy anything new in advance of putting your tree up. This means you have them ready to hang when you pop your tree up.
Shop For Gifts Throughout The Year
Save yourself some money by shopping throughout the year. If you know what you’re looking for, you can keep an eye out for special offers. You’ll also be glad you did when everyone is rushing around the shop at the last minute. Whilst you can relax with a glass of Bailey’s.
Start your plan for Christmas today and you’ll be winning at the festive life!
